The Governor of Banadir Region and the Mayor of Mogadishu, Yusuf Hussein Jimale (Madaale) who participated an event to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Somali police force said that the police force played a major role in securing the capital.
The event, which was attended by the president of JF Somalia, Mr. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, was presented with the history of the Somali police force, which was established in 1943. The event was also attended by international delegations including officials from some countries in the region.
“President, the general security of the capital is very good, there are no military clashes, killings of youths and gangs (ciyaal weero) that have caused great problems to the people living in Mogadishu. The police played a major role in ensuring the general security of the capital,” said Governor Madale. He added that the drugs have been eliminated.
The Mayor of Mogadishu said that the security in Mogadishu is the basis of the president’s decision to control weapons, which has led to the safe passage of the streets and not being stopped, while the Bajaj drivers work day and night peacefully in the districts of the Banadir region.
Governor Madale noted that the President Hassan Sheikh’s decision to fight the Khawarij has achieved great success, and the Somali people have welcomed the latest achievements which include; the lifting of the arms embargo, debt forgiveness, joining the EAC and others that the president of the country has made an effort to confirm.
