The Acting Governor of Banadir Region, who is the Deputy Chairman of Security and Politics of Banadir Region, Mr. Mohamed Ahmed Diriye (Yaboh) has officially launched on Monday the football cup competition for the districts and areas of Banadir Region together with Balcad district in Middle Shabelle Region.
The launch of this competition took place at Eng. Yarisoow was attended by ministers and MPs of the Federal Government of Somalia, the president of the Somali Football Association, the deputy chairman of social affairs of the Banadir regional government, the governors of the districts of the Banadir region, the director of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, directors of the Banadir regional government and hundreds of people from different districts of Mogadishu.
“We are happy to inaugurate today the football competition in the districts and regions of Banadir region and Balcad district, which is held every year, and we want to bring out good technical players who can represent the Somali national team,” said Governor Yabooh.
The football competition in the districts of Banadir Region, which is very interesting, is held every year, which is attended by thousands of people from Mogadishu districts.
“This annual competition organized by the administration of Banadir region for the teams from the districts of the capital and Balcad district is very interesting to the people of Mogadishu and its surroundings,” said the acting governor of Banadir region in his speech at the opening of the competition.
Finally, the Dharkeenley district team that is defending the cup and the team from Balcad district faced each other in the first game of this competition, which presented a very interesting game. The team from Dharkeynley district won 3-0
