In the tapestry of Somalia’s recent history, the leadership of H.E. President Dr. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has been a beacon of progress, with achievements that resonate far beyond national borders. As we acknowledge these milestones, it’s imperative to recognize the crucial role played by Prime Minister H.E. Hamze Abdi Bare Dan Qaran Cabinet and his dedicated team, as well as to call upon the Somali Federal Parliament to continue the collaborative effort in realizing the nation’s aspirations.
President Mohamud’s administration, in tandem with the Somal National Army (SNA) and local community heroes, has made unprecedented strides in liberating almost 80% of Galmudug and Hirshabelle states from the grip of Al-Shabaab. This monumental achievement is a testament to the commitment of the entire leadership in ensuring the safety and prosperity of the Somali people.
The lifting of the army embargo, in place for over 30 years, is a historic turning point for Somalia. President Mohamud, alongside Prime Minister Dan Qaran Cabinet, has worked tirelessly to rebuild international trust and cooperation, fostering an environment that allows for the nation’s defense capabilities to flourish.
Somalia’s accession to the East African Community (EAC) is a diplomatic triumph that underscores the strategic vision of President Mohamud and his team. Joining as the eighth country in this regional bloc, Somalia’s participation in East African integration opens doors to economic collaboration and mutual growth, strengthening ties with neighboring nations.
Equally remarkable is the successful completion of debt relief negotiations, orchestrated by the collaborative efforts of the president, prime minister, and their respective teams. This achievement will provide Somalia with the financial flexibility to invest in essential development projects and address the urgent needs of its citizens.
As we celebrate these accomplishments, it is crucial to extend our appreciation to Prime Minister Dan Qaran Cabinet and his dedicated team. Their unwavering support and collaborative spirit have been instrumental in realizing the ambitious goals set by President Mohamud.
Looking forward, we urge the Somali Federal Parliament to stand hand in hand with the president and prime minister in fulfilling the set goals, particularly focusing on the completion of the Somali Federal Republic Constitution. While the current constitution is provisional, its completion is a crucial step in cementing Somalia’s democratic foundations and ensuring a stable and prosperous future for all citizens.
