The Deputy Commissioner of Security and Politics of the Banadir regional administration, Mr. Mohamed Ahmed Diriye (Yabooh) who spoke to the media at the Daljirka Dahsoon square, said that the people of Mogadishu have gathered to show that they want the constitution to be approved to get rid of the draft.
“The people living in Mogadishu have come together to show their opinion on the completion of the constitution,” said Governor Yabooh, and added that the parliamentarians of both houses have been debating the draft of the constitution for the last few days, and it is today for its approval, and he said that this demonstration organized by the administration of Banadir region.
“The community of the capital has come here to make a request to the members of parliament and demand the approval of the four paragraphs that they have been debating for the last few days and the others that are pending,” said Mr. Yabooh.
Also, he said that the reasons why the people of Mogadishu gathered is that the country’s constitution should be removed from the draft and passed.
“One of the things that the people of the capital are protesting is that those who oppose the constitution leaving the draft whether they are politicians or others, say that we will not make you oppose the completion of the constitution every day,” added the governor. Yaboo.
He concluded his speech: “The people of the capital that we represent, we ask both houses of parliament to approve the constitution.”
